33  ARTISTS IN 3 ACTS    by Sarah Thornton

Is a fun-to-read book filled with artist comments and ideas about what they do.   Thornton asks them all, What is an Artist?, and the responses all differ one from another!  Just try to answer the question for yourself if your name and a quotation of your response was going to be published in a well read book!  I loved reading it,  although I occasionally became a bit tired of some of the very entitled artists comments like Damien Hirst - and I do like SOME of his work.  The book is made up of the experiences and ideas, usually commented upon from Thornton's perspective,  of very successful and mostly very interesting artists who seem to be surprisingly candid in their  responses to Thornton.
It's readily available from all the usual sources.
