Detritus
Continuing to move through the horse trope, I am in the process of covering the Carousel Horse (now on a set of rockers, though I do feel somewhat 'off my own rocker') with black fondant to create patterns/strata with push pins angled to capture ambient light. To get the pins to the size I need for this, I have had to trim them down with a small wire cutter leaving pin remnants.
While I love this part of the project, and will continue with it, I am excited - finally - about what else I am seeing: the detritus!
These pieces, and the ones I originally explored, feel more alive and dynamic. They are starting to make a bit more sense, though I am not yet sure how to organize it all.
I look forward to your feedback, impressions and thoughts, tomorrow during class or here now.
Thanks!

Publication?
I would like to raise this issue at this time.
We have been producing a publication for the class exhibition for a number of years. It gives participants a chance to practice professional skills writing statements producing images for publication and commenting on each other's work. It also is a significant document in the process that allows artists an objective look at their own production.
In addition the document is helpful documentation when making proposals for exhibitions.
Tony has been doing this for the past 3 years or so but is not participating this year!
I have a huge class for a mentoring situation and I can't take the publication on either.
I would like you all to think about these issues and see what you are interested in producing as a group
This is a first run around with this issue and everyone should feel free to say Think or opine about this and we will take a little time to share thoughts on Wed.
